Li Yinan, founder of Niu Technologies, has officially registered "Niuchuang New Energy Special Equipment Co., Ltd." (abbreviated as "Niuchuang Special Vehicles"), with a registered capital of up to 500 million US dollars and its headquarters located in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. Niuchuang Special Vehicles has a clear positioning: to become a "new force" in the field of pure electric special vehicles. According to industrial and commercial records, its business focuses on four core product categories:pure electric airport tractors, pure electric mining trucks, hydrogen-electric hybrid fire rescue vehicles, and autonomous driving port AGVs. Its target markets are clearly closed scenarios such as airports, ports, mines, and large industrial parks.

In closed scenarios, user demands are more concentrated, regulatory thresholds are relatively lower, and special vehicles feature high unit prices and large gross profit margins. This perfectly allows it to avoid the intense internal competition in qualifications, channels, and brands in the passenger vehicle market. According to the plan, Niuchuang Special Vehicles has set its initial annual production capacity at 20,000 units, with a revenue target of 20 billion yuan.

Li Yinan's choice to enter the new energy special-purpose vehicle race at this time is undoubtedly due to his recognition of the huge development potential in this field. The global market for special-purpose electric vehicles is experiencing an unprecedented period of growth, demonstrating the dual characteristics of "outstanding performance in specialization" and "growth differentiation". Data shows that in 2024, the sales volume of new energy special-purpose vehicles in China exceeded 300,000 units, with a year-on-year growth rate of nearly 50% and a penetration rate of 29.8%. Special-purpose vehicles in fields such as municipal sanitation, cold chain transportation, engineering and construction, and emergency support have driven structural upgrading with a comprehensive growth rate of 14.82%.

This growth is driven by two key factors: on one hand, environmental regulations are forcing the upgrading of traditional vehicles, while new energy subsidies are promoting the transition to electrification; on the other hand, the accelerated urbanization process is increasing demand for municipal engineering vehicles, and the improved emergency rescue system is spurring the market for high-end equipment.

From the setback of "Ziyoujia" to the launch of "Niuchuang Special Vehicles", Li Yinan's dream of building cars continues on a new track. The experience of Niu Technologies in the personal mobility sector can be applied to the special-purpose vehicle field, especially in terms of electrification technology and intelligent applications.

However, challenges also exist: How to transform technological advantages into stable product capabilities? How to compete with traditional giants in the international market? The answers may only start to become clear when the first vehicles are delivered in 2026. What is certain, though, is that the "crazy carmaker"'s new endeavor has already injected new variables into the new energy special vehicle track.
